1. The trend topic in this books are the death, vampires and darkness mood. It's what I called the new mood for writers seducing young readers into darkness and ethernal lives enchantment.

1. The trend that you can see in these books are darkness, wolf, vampire, to become part of something different an not acceptable like being a vampire or a wolf.

This trend is becoming very popular.

ResponderEliminarIt appears that the trend that appear to attract young readers in 2011 are topics of Idealistic Fantasy, Suspense, Sensuality, Relationships, Mystery, Darkness, and, of course, suggestive toward Sex awakening. It is shown suggestively through book covers that are obviously appealing, as well as intriguing to potential readers. They seem to use lots of colorful images that attrack the eye and blend figurative images [mostly young females] with the use of creative Art and beautiful-contemporary lettering. In my opinion, some of these book covers could be [and probably have been] use as promotional posters on its own, since most of the artistic impressions and creative work show to be resourceful, very impressive as well as outstanding. Oh my goodness! Who is the graphic artist for the ‘Iron Queen’ (2011) cover? I was so impressed by his/her artistry. Creative Photoshop!
2. How do book covers attract young adult readers to read these works?
In my opinion, the book covers appeal to their [YA] instinctive curiosity; specially these ones that appear suggestive in nature. The Art designs appear contemporary, one that young adult enthusiasts might feel attracted to. The designs itself blends the figurative style with abstraction. It uses current technology to show beautiful/idealistic images with what seems to be technology-created special effects. I tell you…, ‘Hexbound’ (2011); ‘Iron Queen’ (2011); those eyes and red lips in ‘Cryptic Cravings’ (2011); and the use of shadows in ‘The Darkness Becomes Her’ (2011) are, in my opinion, book covers that turn heads. These images reminded me some of 'Evanescence’ CD covers. (jriomaringles)
