I don't think young adults in general will be interested in reading Just one Wish because the strong issue of having a brother or sister with a terminal illness going into a surgery is a cruel topic from which most of the teenagers want to runaway from So, no Young Adults in general won't select the book to read. In the other hand specially kids in this situation will feel compeled and even it could help them pass thru that experience having a character to relay on.
Wao, the plot for her upcoming book is simply hard, strong, super enigmatic to young adults because the fact that your boyfriend leave you because of your sister is a common topic this time. It's a topic so hot that even we as adults will need this magic fairy godmother to overcome this situation. So, my answer is yes. This is a must read book!
1. I believe Just One Wish could attract YA to read it because their are many YA going by a situation similar to this. Maybe not with a brother or sister but with a mother with cancer or their dad just some member of the family having a terminal illness. It is a good way of reminding them to not feel mad about that person maybe not being with you anymore but just trying to make their last days one of the best. Their is another book title My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult that presents a plot similar to this one between two sisters that one life depends from the other.
2. Her upcoming book most be read by YA it is presenting a great plot. Because many YA has that experience of a boy falling for their sister or best friend that they consider a sister and in that age that is one of the worst things that could happen to you. On the other hand their are boys that also get interested in the best friend of their girlfriend and maybe by reading this kind of book can realized how pain full it could be for the girls. And trying to solve it with a not to good God Mother is letting you know that nothing is perfect and that their are ways to solve things.
