Thanks... so far I love this blog is the first time ever I use blogs. I really enjoy the experience. So, next year I will encourage my students to blog with me ... so they coukd develop spontaneous answers using the language so far I am using facebook. I have a Closed Group Anyone can see the group and who's in it. Only members see posts. The add is :EnglishWrittenCommunication@groups.facebook.com . Thanks for the experience.
A goodwill suggestion from me to be included in our list of suggested books: Please, include the reading of ‘Jonathan Livingston Seagull’ (1970) [in spanish: 'Juan Salvador Gaviota'], written by Richard Bach, which in my opinion is a fabulous short-easy-to-read fable in novella that through the use of symbolisms of self exploration, deals with the subjects of individuality, [superación], and one’s desire of stepping outside of the ‘flock’ [the community expected traits]. According to literature, “in 1972 and 1973 the book topped the Publishers Weekly list of bestselling novels in the United States”. I consider this short novel to be inspirational and one that teaches students to explore, to improve, and to develop their own [physical] abilities that, on its own, could be considered different, special, and/or outstanding. That is, the self-exploration of those abilities that set individuals apart from others; how to become better skilled individuals in search of self-improvement and (perhaps) self-perfection. I consider that this book could be used with young students whose are prone to show special skills and abilities; such as Sports and Arts; or any other activity that set them apart form others. The practice of self-improvement through self-exploration and self determination. ‘The overcoming of the individual first and foremost’. Hopefully, you all have the opportunity to read it and maybe show it to your students. I am sure you’ll enjoy it as I did. (jriomaringles)
